Rajya Sabha MP and Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee returned home on Tuesday after being discharged from ILS Hospital, Agartala, where he had been undergoing treatment for a cardiac-related issue. His recovery has brought relief to party leaders, workers, and supporters across the state.
In an emotional social media post, Bhattacharjee expressed profound gratitude to all who supported him during his illness. “By the infinite grace of God and with the blessings, love, and good wishes of party workers and the people of the state, along with the tireless efforts of doctors, I have recovered somewhat and returned home today. I sincerely thank everyone who stood by me and checked on me during this difficult time,” he wrote.
Bhattacharjee also mentioned that doctors have advised him to remain in home isolation for adequate rest. “For now, I must stay in seclusion at home as per medical advice. Therefore, I am unable to meet anyone at this moment. I sincerely apologize to all for this,” he added, requesting understanding from well-wishers.
The BJP leader had been admitted to the hospital last week after experiencing chest pain. Medical examinations revealed arterial blockage, prompting doctors to conduct a procedure during which a stent was placed. Senior BJP leaders confirmed that the surgery was successful and that his condition has since stabilized.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha had personally visited the hospital to monitor Bhattacharjee’s health condition and assured that the MP was under continuous medical supervision.
As Bhattacharjee continues his recovery at home, party workers and supporters have expressed relief and extended prayers for his complete recuperation. He is expected to resume public engagements only after receiving clearance from doctors in the coming days.
