Agartala, August 22: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu today visited several key locations in South Tripura district, including the Border Outpost (BOP) at Belonia of the 43rd Battalion Border Security Force (BSF), the Twikumbah Small Growers Rubber Production Centre in Satchand block, and border villages under Sabroom Gram Panchayat.
At BOP Belonia, the Governor interacted with BSF personnel and reviewed the security arrangements along the international border. He praised the dedication of the border forces in safeguarding the nation under challenging conditions and assured them of full support from the government to strengthen border management. The Governor also emphasized the importance of border security in ensuring peace and stability for the local communities living in frontier areas.
Later, Governor Nallu visited the Twikumbah Small Growers Rubber Production Centre in Satchand block. He inspected the activities of the centre, interacted with rubber growers, and discussed ways to enhance productivity and income for small farmers. He highlighted the state’s potential in the rubber sector and stressed the need for modern techniques, better marketing facilities, and value-added production to boost rural livelihoods.
In the afternoon, the Governor toured villages under Sabroom Gram Panchayat near the border to understand the living conditions of residents. He enquired about basic facilities such as education, healthcare, drinking water, and connectivity. He assured the villagers that both the state and central governments are committed to bringing development schemes to the doorstep of every household in border areas.
Senior officials of the district administration accompanied the Governor during his visit and briefed him about ongoing development initiatives. The Governor’s interaction with villagers and farmers generated a positive response, with locals expressing appreciation for his outreach and concern for their welfare.
