Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu visits border villages, EMRS in South Tripura

Agartala, August 21: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu undertook a visit to various border villages and the Eklavya Model Residential School at Bir Chandra Nagar under South Tripura district on August 21, 2025. The visit formed part of his continuous effort to assess development activities in remote areas and to interact directly with the people to understand their needs.

During his tour of the border villages, the Governor reviewed the living conditions of residents and enquired about their access to basic facilities such as education, healthcare, drinking water, and connectivity. He assured villagers that the state and central governments are committed to improving infrastructure in border regions and to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every household.

The Governor also visited the Eklavya Model Residential School at Bir Chandra Nagar, where he interacted with students, teachers, and staff members. He encouraged the students to focus on their studies and make the best use of the opportunities being provided through such institutions. Emphasizing the importance of education in shaping the future of the youth, he lauded the role of Eklavya schools in promoting quality education for tribal children.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu highlighted the importance of inclusive growth and said that the government is taking significant steps to strengthen education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities in rural and border areas. He also appreciated the efforts of teachers and administrators working in challenging conditions to nurture young talent.

Senior district officials accompanied the Governor during the visit and briefed him about the ongoing development initiatives in the region. The Governor’s visit generated a positive response among local residents, who expressed their appreciation for his concern and outreach.
