Highlighting the ongoing rescue efforts in Dharali, Dhami said the government’s foremost priority is to ensure the safety of residents and pilgrims. “Despite adverse weather, over 1,000 people have been rescued so far,” he said. Injured victims have been admitted to the district hospital and AIIMS, with arrangements in place for medicines, milk, food grains, and clothing in affected areas such as Harsil and Dharali.

Efforts to restore infrastructure are underway. UREDA’s powerhouse in Harsil has been made operational to provide electricity, while UPCL teams work on repairing damaged power lines. Mobile connectivity has been restored, and two 125 KV generator sets deployed. Road repairs are in progress, with a Bailey bridge being built at Gangnani and landslide-hit roads expected to reopen soon. The Harsil road is anticipated to be fully functional by Tuesday.

The CM announced that families whose homes have been destroyed will receive Rs 5 lakh for rehabilitation or relocation. A three-member committee, led by the Revenue Secretary, will assess damage, displacement, and rehabilitation requirements, including losses to apple orchards. Residents of Pauri district’s Sainji and Bankuda villages with damaged homes will also be eligible for the Rs 5 lakh assistance.

Dhami assured that the government will extend all possible help wherever disaster damage has occurred. He also conveyed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged full central support, with the Centre actively cooperating under his leadership.

“These measures reflect our commitment to stand by every affected citizen and help them rebuild their lives,” Dhami said.
