Sonamura, Aug 4: Tripura’s Minister for Higher Education, Kishore Barman, visited the under-construction Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office building in Sonamura, Sepahijala district, on Monday to review the progress of the project.
The Minister expressed optimism that the building would be completed soon and said that preparations for its formal inauguration should be expedited. He noted that once operational, the facility will streamline public services by housing multiple departments under one roof.
“Until now, residents of the Sonamura sub-division have had to visit different locations to complete various government-related tasks, many of which fall under the jurisdiction of the SDM’s office,” Barman told reporters during his visit. “This new facility will ensure convenience and efficiency for the public.”
Barman personally inspected each room of the new office complex to assess its readiness and confirm that it aligns with the needs of the community. He emphasized the government’s focus on strengthening administrative infrastructure across the state to deliver more accessible and effective services to citizens.
With construction work nearing completion, the upcoming SDM office is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing service delivery for the people of Sonamura. The building will accommodate various departments that were previously spread across different locations, making it easier for locals to access administrative support in a centralized manner.
“The completion and operationalization of this building will greatly benefit the people of Sonamura,” Barman reiterated, stressing the government’s commitment to ensuring timely development of public infrastructure for administrative convenience.
The visit highlighted the administration’s intent to prioritize infrastructure projects that directly impact public welfare and improve governance at the grassroots level.
