Speaking at an industry event in Mumbai, CM Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is taking significant strides in attracting major EV investments and creating a robust ecosystem for sustainable transportation. “With strong policy support, infrastructure development, and investor confidence, Maharashtra is poised to lead the EV revolution in India,” he said.

He emphasized that the state has already attracted several leading EV manufacturers, both domestic and international, and continues to offer incentives under its Electric Vehicle Policy to boost production, innovation, and job creation in the sector.

“Maharashtra is not just manufacturing EVs — we are building an entire ecosystem including battery production, charging infrastructure, and research and development centers,” Fadnavis added.

The Chief Minister also cited the increasing number of EV registrations in urban centers such as Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur as evidence of growing public acceptance and market potential. He stressed that the state government’s goal is to ensure that at least 10% of all new vehicle registrations in the coming years are electric.

Fadnavis mentioned that dedicated EV parks and clusters are being planned in key industrial corridors to support large-scale manufacturing and supply chains.

Industry leaders at the event welcomed the state’s vision and reiterated their commitment to invest in Maharashtra’s EV journey. Several companies are reportedly in advanced talks with the government to set up manufacturing units and assembly lines.

With these initiatives, Maharashtra aims not only to lead India’s green mobility transition but also to become a global hub for EV innovation and production.
