Agartala: May 17 – Candidates appearing for the Tripura Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2024-25 staged a protest on Saturday, voicing concerns about errors in the examination. The demonstrators gathered outside the Education Bhavan in the capital, demanding corrective measures and raising five key concerns.
Although security personnel kept the building’s main gate closed, a five-member delegation of examinees was allowed to meet with the Chairman of the Teachers Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), Dr. Pratyush Ranjan Deb.
The protesting candidates claimed that this year’s TET question paper contained multiple errors, including questions outside the prescribed syllabus and spelling mistakes that led to confusion. They also pointed to discrepancies between the answer key and the question paper, questioning the fairness of the evaluation process.
The examinees have urged TRBT to arrange a discussion with subject experts from TET-1 and TET-2 to address the alleged mistakes. They also called for stricter oversight to prevent similar issues in future examinations.
After submitting their demands to the chairman, the delegation reported receiving assurances of prompt action. However, the protestors have indicated that they may escalate their movement if their concerns are not addressed.
