Agartala: Mar 18: The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) organized a two-day national conference on “Opportunities and Challenges for Petrochemicals and Allied Sectors in the North East Region” at Agartala Pragna Bhavan on Tuesday. The conference attracted active participation from prominent leaders and experts from various organizations, marking a significant step toward advancing petrochemical engineering and technology in the region.
The event was chaired by Nabadal Banik, Chairman of the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC), who shared valuable insights during the sessions. He highlighted the rapid growth of Tripura’s industrial sector, emphasizing that the state’s abundant natural resources are playing a pivotal role in this development. According to Banik, Tripura is emerging as a key hub for various industries, significantly contributing to the region’s economic growth. He expressed optimism about the state’s potential, attributing this positive trend to both the resources available and the hard work of the local population.
Other distinguished participants included Dr. Harekrishna Deka, Officer-in-Charge of CIPET Guwahati, Sanjeev Kumar Janjua, Ad-Asset Manager (Designate) of Tripura Asset from ONGC, Sourajit Bose, Officer-in-Charge of CIPET Agartala, and Pankaj Kumar Biswas, General Manager and Officer-in-Charge of GAIL (India) Limited, among others.
The conference provided a platform for discussing the potential opportunities and challenges faced by the petrochemical industry in the North East, aiming to foster collaboration and innovation in this vital sector.
