Agartala: Mar 12: During a Raj Bhavan march organized by the All India Democratic Women’s Association’s state committee on Wednesday, opposition leader Jitendra Choudhury made several allegations against the BJP, IPFT, and Tipra Motha. The march, which began at Swami Vivekananda Maidan and was stopped by police near Circuit House, aimed to address six demands, including action against violence towards women, controlling rising commodity prices, and creating employment opportunities.

In his address, Choudhury criticized Tipra Motha, alleging that its predecessors have operated under various names for criminal interests and created divisions between tribal and non-tribal communities. He called on the women of the state to unite and fight against the BJP, IPFT, and Tipra Motha, drawing parallels to past struggles led by CPI(M) leaders.

Choudhury also targeted the RSS, accusing it of promoting casteism and inequality between men and women. He described the BJP as the political arm of the RSS and criticized its initiatives, including “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” as unfulfilled promises. He further alleged that the BJP government has perpetuated corruption and failed to address issues such as unemployment and food scarcity, leading to widespread despair.

Women’s leader Rama Das also spoke at the rally, highlighting the increasing incidents of violence against women and the lack of justice for victims. She criticized the BJP government for not fulfilling its promises and pointed out issues such as inadequate wages for MGNREGA work. A deputation was submitted to the Governor to address these concerns.
