Agartala: Feb 25: In a recent development, job seekers set out for the Chief Minister’s residence to demand the recruitment of firemen and drivers. The police, however, intervened and stopped them on their way. Subsequently, the protestors gathered in front of Ujjayanta Prasad to continue their demonstration. Their primary demand is the immediate publication of recruitment results and the completion of the recruitment process.
The protestors allege that in 2022, a notice was issued for the recruitment of 329 posts in the Tripura Fire Service. Following this, physical and written tests were conducted. However, nearly two years have passed, and the department has yet to publish the results. According to the protestors, there has been no sign of recruitment activity over the last two years.
The job seekers assert that they attempted to seek answers by marching to the Chief Minister’s residence, but were stopped by the police. They continue to demand the prompt publication of the results and the completion of the recruitment process. Additionally, they have requested Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha to address the matter with urgency and importance. The protestors have also warned that they will escalate their movement if their demands are not met.
