Agartala: Feb 06: A youth was seriously injured after being shot in a forest in Manikpur, Dhalai district. The injured youth, named Ratnajay Riang, is a resident of the Khas Mile area. According to reports, Ratnajay went to the forest on Thursday morning to cut brooms. At that time, unknown miscreants fired at him with a country-made gun, leaving him seriously injured. Despite his injuries, Ratnajay managed to escape from the forest and reach a populated area, where he was rescued and taken to a local hospital.

After receiving first aid, Ratnajay was referred to GB Hospital for further treatment, where he is currently undergoing care. His family mentioned that Ratnajay has no enmity with anyone and they are unable to understand who shot at him.

 

This incident raises concerns about the safety of common people in the area, highlighting that such incidents of gunfire are still occurring. The police are investigating the case, but the family and community are awaiting further information on the perpetrators.
