Agartala: Feb 04: A seven-day scripture training workshop is being held at the Eklavya campus of the Central Sanskrit University from February 3rd, 2025, to February 9th, 2025. The opening ceremony of the workshop took place on February 3rd, 2025, at the Eklavya campus, with distinguished guests and scholars in attendance. The Chief Guest at the event was Professor Bangchukdorje, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Tibetan University (Sarnath). In his speech, Professor Bangchukdorje highlighted the importance of studying the Buddhist text “Vijnaskimatrasiddhi,” presenting insights into the profound teachings of Gautama Buddha and the foundational aspects of Buddhist studies.
The ceremony also featured Bhante Khemasara, the head of Benuvan Vihara in Agartala, as a distinguished guest. Bhante Khemasara spoke about the three primary gems of Buddhism – Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. He emphasized the core teachings of Buddhism, particularly the moral principles that form the foundation of Buddhist practice, drawing attention to the teachings of Buddha as the guiding light for followers.
The inaugural session was presided over by Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahapatra, Director of the Central Sanskrit University, Eklavya Campus. Professor Avadhesh Kumar Choubey, Head of the Department of Buddhist Philosophy, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the event. The opening ceremony was conducted by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, with all the professors, teachers, employees, and students of the Eklavya campus in attendance.
The event concluded with a peaceful mantra, invoking blessings for the success of the workshop. This training workshop is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Buddhist scriptures and philosophy, fostering scholarly engagement with ancient Buddhist texts.
