Agartala: Jan 16: A newly constructed statue of Shaheed Khudiram was inaugurated today at the Khudiram Bose English Medium School, situated in the Banmalipur Assembly constituency. The event was a significant occasion, honoring the legacy of Khudiram Bose, a freedom fighter whose contributions to India’s independence remain an inspiration. Alongside the unveiling of the statue, a thoughtful gesture of distributing bicycles to the girl students of the school was also carried out. The bicycles aim to ease the girls’ commute to and from school, ensuring that transportation challenges do not hinder their education.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee attended the ceremony and highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the education and welfare of girls. He spoke of the ongoing initiatives, particularly the distribution of bicycles, which is part of a broader effort to ensure that girls have equal opportunities to pursue education. Bhattacharjee also referenced several welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at empowering women across India. These initiatives, he noted, are designed to enable women to assert their rights, achieve independence, and contribute more effectively to society.
The distribution of bicycles and the unveiling of Khudiram Bose’s statue together symbolized the nation’s dedication to both honoring its history and investing in the future of young women. The event emphasized the importance of education and the government’s resolve to create a more inclusive society for women and girls in the country.
