State Government Focuses on Self-Sufficiency in Milk, Meat, and Eggs

Agartala: Dec 26: The state government is determined to make the state self-sufficient in milk, meat, and eggs. Minister Sudhanshu Das has been holding review meetings every three months. On Thursday, a district-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister Sudhanshu Das at the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office. Besides the minister, MLA Minarani Sarkar, MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, officials of the Fisheries Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and SC Welfare Department were present.

Addressing the media, the minister said that the work done by the Fisheries Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and SC Welfare Department in the last three months has been reviewed. This meeting is district-based. The main objective of this meeting is to assess how far the targets set for the 2024-25 financial year have been met. In particular, it was reviewed how much the production of fish, meat, eggs, and milk has increased in the state. At the same time, an inquiry was made into how far the projects of the SC Welfare Department are reaching the people properly. The minister said that the department officials have been instructed to focus on how to increase production in the coming days.
