Agartala: Dec 07: Tensions erupted in the Noapara area late Friday night, resulting in the arrest of two CPI(M) workers, Milad Hossain and Sumit, following a violent clash with BJP workers over a business-related issue. The confrontation began when a group of CPI(M) workers, allegedly led by Milad Hossain, attacked the house of a BJP worker named Saddam Hossain. Saddam claimed that the attack was retaliation for his involvement in BJP activities in the area.
According to Saddam Hossain, his house was vandalized during the attack, and a significant sum of two lakh rupees in cash was stolen. The violent episode created intense unrest in the neighborhood, as locals feared the repercussions of the ongoing political tensions. Jasim Uddin, the member of Ward No. 5 in Noapara, along with local residents, quickly intervened, apprehending the accused CPI(M) workers before alerting the police.
Bishalgarh police swiftly responded to the situation and arrived at the scene to arrest Milad Hossain and Sumit. The police action helped restore some calm to the area, though the underlying tension remains. The arrested individuals were taken into custody, and the authorities plan to present them before the Bishalgarh court on Saturday afternoon.
The incident has raised concerns about the escalating political violence in the region, particularly in the context of increasing confrontations between CPI(M) and BJP workers over business and other local matters. The clash serves as a reminder of the volatile nature of political rivalries in some areas, where personal and business disputes often intersect with party loyalty, leading to clashes and violence. The situation remains under close monitoring by local authorities.
