Agartala: Nov 19: The Tripura government has decided to increase the ration money for police and TSR (Tripura State Rifles) jawans from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per month. This decision will result in an additional expenditure of ₹2.17 crore every month for the state government. The announcement was made by Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference at the Secretariat today, where he provided details about the Cabinet’s decisions.
In addition to the ration money increase, the government has also decided to raise the clothing allowance for jawans across all ranks. The allowance has been increased from ₹10,000 to ₹12,000. For Tripura Police personnel, the clothing allowance has been increased from ₹7,500 to ₹9,500.
Furthermore, the government has approved the recruitment of 125 Physical Education Teachers (PET) under the Education Department. To enhance the state’s sports infrastructure, 75 Junior Physical Instructors (PI) will also be recruited under the Sports and Youth Affairs Department. These moves are part of the government’s efforts to improve sports and physical education in the state.
In another key development, the Cabinet has decided to recruit 53 Fisheries Officers under the Fisheries Department, aiming to strengthen the state’s fisheries management and resources. These initiatives reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to improve welfare for security forces, education, sports, and other essential sectors in the state.
