Agartala: Nov 13: A young man, impersonating a ticket collector, was apprehended by the Manu GRP police on a train traveling from Dharmanagar to Agartala on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Hossein Ali, hails from the Deorachhara area of Kailashahar. He claimed to have been recruited for the job of a ticket collector by a group he connected with through social media. This group had provided him with a ticket collector’s uniform, nameplate, and diary.
It has been reported that the young man boarded the train dressed as a ticket collector and began checking tickets. He collected fines from passengers who did not have tickets but did not provide receipts, which aroused suspicion among the passengers. Upon reaching Manu station, the matter was reported to the GRP police, who subsequently arrested the fake ticket collector.
During interrogation, the police discovered that Hossein Ali was a resident of Kailashahar and had started this activity on the same day. He revealed that he had been offered the job through social media. Based on his statement, it is suspected that he was lured into this scheme by a criminal gang. He further claimed that he had been provided with the ticket collector’s uniform, nameplate, and diary to carry out the task. The GRP police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
