Agartala: Nov 12: Senior lawyer Shaktimoy Chakraborty has been appointed as the new Advocate General of the state, succeeding eminent lawyer Siddhartha Shankar Dey. Chakraborty’s appointment comes after Dey resigned from the position today. Dey submitted his resignation letter to the state’s Law Secretary in the morning, and it was formally accepted by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu in the afternoon. The resignation has also been acknowledged by the state government.
Shaktimoy Chakraborty, a respected figure in the legal community, will now take over the responsibilities of representing the state in legal matters, replacing Dey, who held the position for an extended period.
