Agartala: Nov 07: Doctors at the GB Hospital in Agartala have successfully saved a seven-month-old infant from the brink of death, showcasing remarkable medical skill and determination. The infant, named Taniya Begum, was born prematurely at the Dhalai District Hospital on August 7. Weighing just 670 grams, the infant’s chances of survival were extremely low. The attending doctors at Dhalai Hospital, after evaluating the critical condition of the baby, predicted that the infant would survive only for two days. Given the grave situation, the baby was immediately referred to the GB Hospital in Agartala for further treatment.
Upon arrival at GB Hospital, a team of doctors began intensive care and treatment for the newborn. After three months of constant medical attention and careful monitoring, the infant has made a full recovery and is now healthy. The successful treatment of this infant is being hailed as a major achievement by the medical team.
The baby’s father, Syed Begum, hails from the Kamalpur Maloya area. The medical team, led by pediatrician Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, expressed their satisfaction with the outcome, noting the complex and difficult journey to recovery. The doctors involved in the case included Dr. Tapan Majumder (HOD), Dr. Bikas Debbarma (Deputy MS), Dr. Arup Kumar Saha, Dr. Joyanta Roy, and others.
The infant’s mother expressed her gratitude to the hospital’s medical staff, saying that the doctors had not left any stone unturned in providing the best care for her child. She recalled how, in a critical condition, she brought her baby to the hospital, fearing the worst. Now, thanks to the dedication of the doctors, she is returning home with a healthy child, treating the medical team as her saviors. The successful recovery of Taniya Begum is a testament to the commitment and expertise of the healthcare professionals at GB Hospital.
