Agartala: Oct 09: In a recent statement, former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar addressed the results of the Jammu and Kashmir elections, describing them as a significant event for democracy. Sarkar highlighted that after a decade, elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir, and the outcome reflected the people’s response to the current political climate.

Sarkar noted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had anticipated a victory in these elections. However, the results indicated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir did not support the BJP government. He attributed this to the constitutional changes implemented by the BJP, which altered the region’s status and removed its full statehood. According to Sarkar, the electorate’s decision was a clear verdict against these changes.

He further emphasized that the election results were extraordinary, as they demonstrated the people’s rejection of the BJP. Sarkar claimed that the victory of the Indian alliance in Jammu and Kashmir was a triumph for the entire country, as it represented a stand against what he described as a conspiracy against the constitution and democracy.

Sarkar also commented on the election results in Haryana, stating that the Congress party found them unacceptable and had raised concerns about potential rigging of electronic voting machines (EVMs). He mentioned that the Congress could not accept the outcome of the Haryana elections due to these allegations.
