State Government and Central Government Collaborate to Address Flood Situation

Agartala: August 23: The state government is working tirelessly to manage the flood situation and has taken necessary steps to assist those affected. The central government has provided all the necessary support to help the state overcome this crisis.

On Friday, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha visited flood-affected areas in Gomati and South Tripura districts. In the morning, the Chief Minister departed for these districts to inspect the flood-affected areas by boarding an MI-17 helicopter at Agartala’s MBB Airport.

In Udaipur, Chief Minister Dr. Saha inspected the temporary relief camp at Khilpara High School and Khilpara Market Shed, where he spoke with the affected people. Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister mentioned that he is inspecting both the flood-affected areas and the relief camps. He noted that ministers and MLAs are also visiting affected areas across the state. The state government is continuously working to manage the flood situation, with extensive support from the central government. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their assistance in flood relief and rescue operations.

The Chief Minister further stated that additional NDRF teams, helicopters, and boats have been deployed to manage the flood situation. Food packets are being distributed among the flood-affected people. The government is taking all necessary steps to support those affected by the floods. He acknowledged that many people have lost important documents due to the floods and assured that administrative officers have been instructed to assist in this matter.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Udaipur Municipal Chairman Shital Chandra Majumdar, Special Duty District Magistrate of Gomati district Rabel Hemen Kumar, and senior officials from various state government departments.

On this day, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha inspected various flood-affected areas, including Udaipur, Karbuk, Amarpur, Shantirbazar, Biloniya, Matabari, Melaghar, Charilam, Bishalgarh, and Agartala by air. He also visited the damaged areas in person in several places and directed the concerned district magistrates to take all necessary measures for the affected people.
