Tristar Panchayat elections were held peacefully, BJP claims

Agartala: August 08: The voting process for 1,819 seats of 606 Gram Panchayats out of 4,370 Gram Panchayats, 188 seats of 33 Panchayat Samitis out of 442 Panchayat Samitis, and 95 seats out of 116 seats of 8 Zilla Parishads was held on Thursday.

Democracy-loving people of the state participated enthusiastically in the elections, casting their votes safely in a festive mood since morning. State BJP chief spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty held a press conference at the state BJP office on Thursday evening, congratulating the people of the state and thanking all the workers engaged in the election process. He noted that elections were held peacefully across the state, from north to south.

BJP party functionaries assisted people as needed in reaching polling booths, and Chakraborty thanked the party for its effectiveness. Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary Amit Rakshit paid tribute to the memory of the late West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. He also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful organization of the Tristar Panchayat elections.
