Agartala: July 23: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu emphasized the significant role that Tripura Medical College and Dr. BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital can play in enhancing healthcare quality in the state. He made these remarks during an interaction with journalists following his visit to Tripura Medical College this afternoon.
During his visit, the Governor toured various departments, including the Operation Theater, pediatrics, orthopedics, ENT, and CT scan units.
Governor Nallu noted that Tripura’s health infrastructure and services are superior to those in most northeastern states, with the exception of Assam. He highlighted that many patients from neighboring Bangladesh seek treatment in Tripura due to its advanced healthcare facilities.
The Governor urged the medical professionals at Tripura Medical College and Dr. BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital to focus on optimizing services within the existing infrastructure.
College Principal Dr. Arindam Dutta and Medical Superintendent Dr. Jayanta Kumar Poddar provided the Governor with an overview of the services and departments at the college. Dr. Promethesh Roy, Chairman of the Society of Tripura Medical College and Dr. BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, was also present during the visit.
