Agartala: April 13: In conjunction with the Lok Sabha elections, by-elections are set to take place in seven Ramnagar assembly constituencies within the state. Over the weekend, a spirited bike rally commenced from the Agartala Pragati School ground, rallying support for the by-election candidate, Deepak Majumder. The event witnessed the presence of Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, and, of course, the candidate himself.
Minister Ratan Lal Nath addressed the gathering, asserting that the security deposit of the opposition party’s candidate would be confiscated. According to Nath, Ratan Das, the contender for this seat, has failed to demonstrate any substantial contributions to the people of Ramnagar in recent times. Consequently, the BJP’s victory in the Ramnagar constituency by-election appears all but certain, with hopes of securing a substantial margin of votes. Nath also predicted that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) would lose its status as the opposition party after this election, while the Congress would secure at least one MLA seat. However, he later revised his statement, suggesting otherwise.
Meanwhile, Minister Sushant Chowdhury echoed the popular slogan, “Abki bar 400 par”, which has gained acceptance among the common populace. He cited campaign evidence supporting the notion that the NDA government would secure over 400 seats in the upcoming elections, with 370 seats attributed solely to the BJP. Chowdhury emphasized that voters would prioritize development, while any opposing alliance would vote against the India alliance.
