Agartala: Feb 13: Political situation in Kalyanpur is turbulent at the end of the election campaign. Three people from both parties were seriously injured in the political clash. Two people have been admitted to GB Hospital for treatment in critical condition. The incident took place around 9:30 on Sunday night. A case has been filed against five people for assaulting two BJP supporters. A counter-case has been filed against eleven people on behalf of the CPIM party.According to the details of the incident, a clash took place between the supporters of CPIM and BJP workers in Dakshin Durgapur Taruni Daspara under Kalyanpur police station. Due to this clash, BJP workers Neelkant Das and Swapan Das were sent to the hospital in the night. As Swapan Das’s injuries were serious, he was immediately referred to GB Hospital in Agartala for advanced treatment. On the other hand, Deepak Das, a supporter of the CPIM party, was taken to the Khoai District Hospital in a critical condition and was also sent to the GB Hospital as his condition was critical. CPIM regional secretary Sameer Chakraborty alleged that BJP party miscreants attacked and looted the house of CPIM supporter Nirmal Das in Taruni Das Para of South Durgapur Ratia in the dark of night while creating a tense atmosphere in the entire assembly area. The women of the house were also injured in their attack.On their screams, his brother Deepak Das alias Parimal came forward from the adjoining house and seriously injured him too. Following this incident, a case was filed against 11 people at Kalyanpur police station. Expressing displeasure against police action and seeking security to maintain normalcy in the assembly elections, the CPIM party organized a siege protest program at Kalyanpur police station. Finally, the memorandum was handed over to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Prasoon Kanti Tripura. The CPIM leadership said the siege program was called off after the police assured to take necessary action. Meanwhile, the youth leader of BJP party Somen Gop complained that last night two party functionaries led by Deepak Das attacked them with firearms on their way home from the market in Taruni Das Para of Dakshin Durgapur Ratiya. Swapan Das and Neelkant Das were injured. Swapan Das has been admitted to GB Hospital as his condition is critical. In this incident, a case was filed against five people at Kalyanpur police station. Police investigated the incident and arrested CPIM worker Dulal Roy in the night. Currently, the political heat in the area is gradually increasing; the situation is at a standstill.
