Agartala: June 22: CPM and Congress houses collapsed in South Tripura district. About 700 voters of 276 families left the two parties in Jolaibari assembly constituency and joined BJP today. State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee welcomed them by handing over the party flag. Local MLA and Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Minister Bikas Debbarma, Shantirbazar Assembly Constituency MLA Pramod Reang, MDC Bidyut Debbarma and other leaders of the party were present in this meeting among others.

Incidentally, the Jolaibari Center left lost in the 20th Assembly elections. Shukla Charan Noatia of BJP’s alliance partner IPFT has won from that center and is serving as the current cabinet member. Since the assembly election, Shukla Charan Noatia and mandal president Samanjay Tripura have started trying hard to weaken the opposition in Jolaibari constituency.

 

On this day, nearly 700 voters of 276 families left CPM and Congress and joined under the banner of BJP. A discussion meeting was held at the end of this meeting. Various organizational matters were discussed in the meeting. Basically, the discussion gained importance with the aim of ensuring BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
