Yaba tablets and heroin worth about eleven lakh taka seized by Dharmanagar police station, four arrested.
Again Yaba tablets and heroin worth about eleven lakh rupees were seized by Dharmanagar police station of Uttar district. Four smugglers were also arrested. The arrested are respectively Abdul Odud (18) of Kameshwar in Dharmanagar, Kabil Ahmed (25) of Sabajpur in Dharmanagar, Shribas Nath (26) of Sarla in Kadmatlar and Sanjib Kalua (30) of Rajbari area of Dharmanagar. The police of the local police station have registered a case and started investigation. It is known that on the basis of confidential information, the police of Dharmanagar Police Station received information that a group of drug smugglers would supply drugs to Dharmanagar city. Based on that source, the police of the local police station started raids in plain clothes in different areas of Dharmanagar city from Wednesday morning. Later that day at around 11:30 am, the police stopped a pulsar bike of suspect TR 05C/6442 in Kali Dighi Par area of Dharmanagar and conducted a search. During the search, 1400 Yaba tablets were recovered from the three youths on the bike. Three traffickers named Abdul Odud, Kabil Ahmed and Shribas Nath were also arrested. Later, the police brought the bike with the Yaba tablet and the three smugglers to the Dharmanagar police station. On the other hand, the police of Dharmanagar police station raided the house of Sanjeev Kalua in Rajbari area of the city at around 8 pm on Tuesday and arrested him along with 6.5 grams of heroin. It is to be noted that Sanjib Kaluar’s house was raided on the 4th of this month and his father Nirmal Kaluar was arrested along with 200 kilos of heroin by Dharmanagar police station. Bhanupada Chakraborty, Superintendent of Police of Emorme North District, said that this success was achieved when two separate operations were conducted based on secret information. He said that the black market value of recovered yaba tablets and heroin is around eleven lakh taka. The police have registered two separate cases and started investigation.
