Agartala: Dec 26: Today, the 132nd birth anniversary of the great leader of the Chinese socialist revolution, Comrade Mao Zedong, was celebrated at the CPM state office. CPM state leader Pabitra Kar and other party leaders were present at the event.
In the context of increasing Chinese aggression and its growing anti-India stance, including efforts to capture Arunachal Pradesh, many Indian political parties have raised their voices against China. However, in contrast, CPM leader Pabitra Kar praised China.
On this occasion, the CPM leadership paid tribute to Mao Zedong by offering flowers at his portrait at the Dashrath Bhawan in Agartala. During the ceremony, Pabitra Kar spoke highly of China, which was in sharp contrast to the anti-China rhetoric adopted by most political parties in India.
Pabitra Kar remarked, “At a time when efforts are being made to fight against the BJP, Mao Zedong remains a teacher and an inspiration for leftists. We will continue to draw lessons from his leadership to advance in our party’s efforts.” This praise for China by the CPM leader comes at a time when the nation is witnessing rising tensions between India and China, with growing concerns over China’s territorial ambitions.
