Agartala December 29: TIPRA Motha, the main opposition party in the state, called a 12-hour bandh on Friday in the ADC area. Attacks and counter-attacks between TIPRA Motha and BJP took place in wide areas including Khumluwng, Takarjala, Belbari on Wednesday. It is known that the workers of TIPRA Motha party suddenly attacked the Juba Morcha organizational meeting at Govinda Hall in Belbari. 6 people were injured.

Three bikes and an auto belonging to TIPRA Motha were smashed in the Khumluwng Syndicate on Wednesday. Besides, the office of TIPRA Motha party was set on fire in Sonamani Para. It is also alleged that Youth Morcha workers have attacked the houses of TIPRA Motha party workers in various areas including Khumluwng, Belbari, Takarjala. Therefore, TIPRA Motha workers along with MDC Ganesh Debbarma of 17 Janmjaynagar-Pekwar Jalla called a 12-hour bandh from 6 am to 6 pm on Friday on the orders of TIPRA Motha Supremo Pradyuot Kishore Deb Barman. Bandh is accordingly observed in ADC area.

But no response to the ban was observed. However, the picketing people in Khumulung stood on the road and demanded the arrest of the accused within 12 hours. Meanwhile, picketers blocked roads in Champaknagar and Jampuizala. A total of 19 ADC village areas were called for bandh on this day, but no response was seen. Shops and vehicular traffic were closed in the mixed area. However, on that day, vehicles and shops associated with emergency services were exempted from this ban. However, additional security personnel were deployed in the ADC areas since morning. It is said that there is no news of any kind of unpleasant incident surrounding the bandh.
