Agartala, June 3: The All India Save Education Committee submitted a deputation today to the Director of Secondary Education, highlighting eight critical demands related to education in Tripura. Among these demands are the immediate cancellation of the Vidyajyoti project and a reevaluation of the National Education Policy.

A committee member expressed concern over the Vidyajyoti project, which has been implemented in 125 schools across the state. However, some schools continue to grapple with teacher shortages and infrastructure deficiencies. The decision to include only 125 schools in the project has drawn criticism, with allegations of ethical and scientific lapses. The secondary and higher secondary examination results under the Vidyajyoti project this year have been disappointing. In light of this, the committee demands the immediate cancellation of the project. Additionally, they advocate for the appointment of sufficient teachers in all schools throughout Tripura.

Beyond the Vidyajyoti project, the committee also calls for comprehensive infrastructure development in every school. This includes addressing physical facilities, technology, and other essential resources.

As the education landscape evolves, stakeholders continue to advocate for reforms that prioritize the well-being and academic growth of students across the state.
