Biplab stands by the side of storm hit people (5/8/2018)
Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday visited the storm hit parts of Lefunga RD block. He was accompanied by MLA Krishnadhan Das. He first went to Lefunga HS school and later also covered Madhuchoudhurypara HS and Maikhorbari JB school. In Lefunga school alone 1496 persons of 238 families have taken shelter. Mr Deb castigated the CMO in front of everyone for not arranging ambulance for the distressed people here. Later talking with reporters he said that Lefunga block is one of the worse hit due to the storm. The affected families have been given Rs seven thousand as initial help. Those who have lost their houses will be provided Rs 95,000. Later on he also went to Berimura HS school. There he talked about other issues with the waiting scribes. He said Tripura is all set to become the business gateway of North East once the bridge over river Feni comes up at Sabroom. HSCL has already been told to complete the work by 2019. Police investigation regarding the killing of four BSF jawans and killing of family members by a TSR jawan who committed suicide is also underway, he stated.
