Jiten set to replace Bijan (4/5/2018)
The dejection in Melarmath is really noteworthy. The presence of Manik Sarkar for the past few days has not been able to rejuvenate the comrades out of power for the first time since 1993. There is talk that Manik may shift to a government allocated quarter or to the flat being constructed in property owned by his wife Panchali Bhattacharjee soon. This will lead to CPI(M) party headquarters stooping into darkness . But there is ray of hope at last if sources in Melarmath is to be believed. Reports said, Jiten Choudhury will become the next secretary of state CPI(M). He will replace Bijan Dhar in the next state conference slated to take place soon after the Party Congress ends. This will be the last resort step by CPI(M) to stop a virtual takeover of the party support base by BJP IPFT combine . Biplab Deb is the youth icon of the state at the helm of affairs and BJP is taking over CPI(M) cadres to the party fold. Hence it has been decided to give relatively young Jiten Choudhury the charge to lead the party in this hour of crisis. After all it is only in Manubazar where IPFT could not win out of the nine seats it contested.
