CM takes battle to IPFT heartland (10/10/2017)
Chief minister Manik Sarkar took the battle to the IPFT heartland by inaugurating the martyrs memorial park at Golaghati. This even as IPFT started its sit in agitation at Takarjala close to Golaghati in the same subdivision. So what did BJP workers do even as rival parties were seen upping the ante . The party workers of BJP were seen clearing jungles all the way from Amarpur to Karbook. Sarkar on Tuesday unveiled a ‘Martyrs Memorial’ and park in western Tripura in memory of 12 farmers massacred by police in the peasants’ agitation of 1948.The Left Front government has erected the ‘Martyrs’ Memorial, and a tribal cultural centre at an area of around 26 acres at Golaghati. But this did not deter the IPFT movement in nearby Takarjala.
