Talks held on Cong - TMC alliance (8/12/2017)
Talks have been held and the stage seems set for a Congress - Trinamool Congress alliance in the assembly poll. “The Left Front is the main rival of Congress. Though the BJP has emerged as main opposition, people still believes in Congress. We are thinking of uniting with Trinamool Congress and other indigenous political parties against the Left Front in the coming elections though official talks has been made in this regard”, said CLP leader Gopal Roy.Mr Roy held initial talks with Sabyasachi Dutta, TMC state observer who said the final call in this regard will be taken by Mamata Banerjee. Dulal Das, now the only leader worth repute in the TMC admitted that the party has no other option but to forge alliance. Melarmath party leaders have said that they are happy with the development as this will mean that there will be split in anti Left votes and one to one fight will not take place.
