Tripura on high alert as NE Manipur’s girl tested positive (3/24/2020) 
The Northeast India’s first Covid-19 positive case in Manipur has now alarmed the one of the seven sister states of Tripura in Northeast which has gone under complete lockdown from Tuesday noon till March 31. Manipur on Tuesday recorded the state and the northeast region’s first Covid-19 case after 23 years old student who returned from London last week tested positive for the coronavirus disease.The 23 years old lady reached her hometown from UK on Air Asia flight which crossed Kolkata and landed at Agartala airport to fly for Imphal in a layover on March 21. The patient showed signs of illness on March 22, a day after she arrived in Manipur. Concerned over this positive case with the 23 years old lady, the task force constituted in Tripura is now looking for passengers of Tripura who came in close contact with the infected girl and then fanned out in different parts of the state.Besides, the Manipur government is now on the lookout for the expected Agartala passengers flied to Imphal. Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at Imphal in Manipur tested the 23 years old lady positive for Sars-Cov-2 infection. She along with her brother who travelled together on flight from UK are isolated in Manipur.However, as per the latest input no positive cases are found in Tripura which has undergone complete lockdown from Tuesday noon and already imposed Section 144 from March 15. Tripura also sealed its border with the neighbouring country – Bangladesh for a month to contain any possible outbreak of COVID-19.
