Budget session held in “undemocratic way”, says Manik (3/23/2020)
Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today said that the budget session of the state assembly was held in an “undemocratic” way. After the Opposition walked out from the house, Sarkar told media persons that they requested the speaker to leave everything aside and to discuss the budget as the “situation of the country is very critical and dangerous” but the treasury bench is not ready to listen our words, he alleged. “The ruling BJP has used its power of majority and not interested to listen our request. They are not serious about the matter of the coronavirus. The budget has to be passed and for this it takes a lot time. So this is the reason we had asked to cancel all business except budget”, Sarkar said.
