TTAADC passes proposed budget of over Rs 1000 cr for 2020-21 (2/13/2020) 
A proposed budget of Rs. 1059.49 crore for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) during the year 2020-21 was passed on the last day of two-day budget session of the tribal council on Wednesday. In the proposed budget, the tribal council is expected to receive Rs.2959.94 lakh as revenue collection (plan), Rs. 15730 lakh as share of tax, Rs. 14160.05 lakh from XIV Finance Commission/Exclusive Area Development and Rs. 12242.13 lakh from Niti Aayog / XV Finance Commission. While speaking on the budget, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of TTAADC, Radha Charan Debbarma said there was financial constraint for the past two years. “In spite of financial constraint and limited resource, tribal council has tried its best to ensure welfare of tribal people. And, we did something for the people residing in TTAADC areas”, he said. Debbarma said ADC administration has been facing problem to take up development works due to financial constraint. “But we are still moving on”, he said. Highlighting on the budget, the CEM said agriculture, education, self employment and housing have got due attention. “The ADC has decided to provide pucca houses to all the jhumia families. This year, we will provide housing benefit to 150 jhumia families”, he said. Executive Members- Dhirendra Reang and Shantanu Jamatia also spoke on the proposed budget. Later, the proposed budget was passed with voice vote.
