Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir celebrates 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (1/12/2020) 
Along with nation, Ramkrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir today celebrated the 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at School premises in Agartala. All teachers, students and Ex- students attends the programme under the banner of 36th National Youth Day. Ramkrishna Vivekananda Alumni, all teachers, students and Ex-students participated in the procession that passed through the busy thoroughfare of the town. The principals of the schools also participated in the procession. Notably, Swami Vivekananda was an Indian Hindu monk, a chief disciple of the 19th century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century. Vivekananda conducted hundreds of public and private lectures and classes, disseminating tenets of Hindu philosophy in the United States, England and Europe. In India, Vivekananda is regarded as a patriotic saint and his birthday is celebrated there as National Youth Day. This day is of great importance in the academic calendar. Schools and colleges across the country take out processions, organize speeches, recitations, youth conventions and various music, sports and essay-writing competitions on this day. Swami Vivekananda’s writings and lectures have inspired many youth organisations, study circles and service projects.
