| Madhya Bhubanban shoot-out victim dies in hospital (11/29/2019) |

Uma Sarkar aged 39, a victim of a point blank range shoot out in Madhya Bhubanban, Agartala passed away yesterday in a Kolkata based private hospital. Police sources stated that the victim suffered a shot to the back when the assailants entered her house on the night of November 16 disputing some personal issues. On Nov 16, two men stormed into a house of the woman, a housewife whose husband is a construction businessman in Rajasthan while her son is also at work in Himachal Pradesh. and fired three shots at the 42-year-old housewife, and shot for reportedly refusing the man’s refusal on the night of Deepavali. The victim was immediately admitted at G.B. Hospital. However, because of her critical condition, she was shifted to the private hospital for treatment. Later, Samir Banik, the main culprit, was arrested based on the statement of the victim when she was still alive. The West Agartala Police Station also arrested another suspect, Samir Bhattacharjee from his house at Ramnagar road after two days from the first arrest. The police investigating the case also added that the shoot-out that led to the death of the victim will be filed under Section 302 of the IPC which aligns with murder instead of Section 307 which is attempt to murder.
