BJP declares district president elections' schedule (11/5/2019) 
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced party's district presidents, considered strategic post of the party's rank. Submission of filing of nomination papers would be allowed from November 5 to 9 while scrutiny will be carried out on November 10. The elections will take place on November. The party has shifted its focus to election of district presidents for ten organizational districts. once district presidents are elected, the party's organizational committee will begin election to the state council and state party president. By December, the state will have new BJP president. Importantly, it is not yet cleared if Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will stay as president or not. In case he remains in place, there will be a working president for the state to lead the party, according to party insiders.
