CM inaugurates Khowai court new building (9/11/2019)
Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday morning inaugurated the newly constructed court building of Khowai district.
The construction work started in November 2016 and it has cost Rs eight crore 25 lakhs to build the court building. The then Left Front government planned to bring all the courts of Khowai district under one roof and that’s why they have started to construct the building. Khowai district and session court, CJM court, SDJM court and family court will from now one function from the newly constructed court building. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister came down heavily on his predecessor Manik Sarkar, however, without mentioning his name. Deb told, “He has learned good governance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He does not want to take advice from others who were failed in their fields.” Biplab Deb said, “For 25 years the Left Front ruled the State, but there was no work culture in Tripura.” “The employees are getting money but they were not performing their duty properly,” he added. He also said he wants quality and result oriented work. Biplab Deb claimed that, since last 18 months something has changed in the State but everything have not changed yet. Deb further said his government is working towards making Tripura a drugs free state. Referring obliquely to Manik Sarkar, he also said that a chief minister with 20 years of experience did not do enough to stop the drugs business in the State. Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Sanjoy Karol, the two judges Subhasis Talapatra and Arindam Loadh of Tripura High Court and others were also present the programme.
