Law an Order in state is far from normal (9/2/2019) 
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb placed a report and data and holds home portfolio indicate law and order in state is far from normal. As per asterisk question raised by MLAs Sudan Das, Ratan Bowmik, Nirmal Biswas and Bijita Nath in assembly on Monday, Deb replyed that from April 1st 2018 to July 31st 2019 there was 2053 death under various police station in the state. Lose of lives was due to murder, bride killing, dowry death, murder after rape.In last sixteen months in state there was 155 murders, 1872 unnatural deaths, 23 bride killings, 31 dowry death and murder after rape in the state, said Chief Minister in assembly. Besides, in last sixteen months there were total number of 222 kidnapping and 809 incidents of Crime Against Women were registered. It was also stated 267 accused was arrested involved in 212 murder cases and 240 cases of rape was also registered. In last sixteen months charge sheet was filed against 768 accused and 38 accused was convicted by court.
