Sudip Biplab war out in the open (4/12/2019)
The war of one upmanship between chief minister Biplab Deb and Sudip Barman is out in the open. Sudip caused a major embarrassment for the CM leaving his police escort and security. The immediate provocation was the assault on Dr Dipankar Debnath inside and outside IGM hospital. Yesterday, Mr Barman said enough is enough. Today he took this drastic step which many believe is aimed at defaming the CM who handles the home portfolio. Mr Deb on his part said police pickets will be set up in IGM and GB hospital and action taken against the attackers and those who take law in their own hands. This announcement was made by Biplab alongwith Dr Dilip Das, Dr Manik Saha and Dr Ashok Sinha. But inspired by the instigation of the health minister doctors have threatened to go on mass resignation. The spate of incidents in the middle of peak election season seems part of a deep rooted conspiracy to bring bad name to the CM. First , Sudip held meeting with the present PCC president, next he sided with Subal Bhowmik who left BJP and was given nomination as Congress candidate from West Tripura seat.
