Biplab takes battle to locality of Subal (4/8/2019)
This has been the biggest betrayal he has got during his one year stint as CM cum BJP president. Recovering from the shock of the sudden betrayal of Subal Bhowmik which many believe was due to monetary benefits being involved Biplab Deb took the battle to the locality of the Congress candidate. Before that he addressed rallies in Rajnagar, Belonia and Bisalgarh ending his campaign blitzkerg. The 2019 election has seen one of the most hectic campaign schedules of the chief minister. In stark contrast opposition leader and ex CM Manik Sarkar has remained more or less subdued in his campaign. This has increased the miseries of both CPI(M) sitting MPs. Manik skipped active campaigning in support of Jiten Choudhury whom he prevented from becoming the CPI(M) state secretary. PCC president welcomed Subal to the Congress fold stunned the likes of Gopal Roy by naming the party candidate but preferred to campaign more for his sister contesting from East Tripura. He told reporters today he was expecting a miracle. But so far a BJP landslide looks destined to take place.
