NEINDIA impact : CPM names candidate (3/12/2019)
Within 24 hours of news appearing in this website Bijan Dhar and Gautam Das held a press meet and declared the names of candidates for two Lok Sabha seats in the state. Both sitting MPs were given nomination and this led to mass anger among the party cadres. They had hoped that Manik Sarkar will contest from West Tripura. But this did not happen nor did the party go for alliance or seat adjustment with Congress like it has done in West Bengal. The plight of the Left party was exposed by the comment of Bijan Dhar that they were banking on the new apps being launched by the Election commission . Media was told to play proactive role for making sure that free and fair poll takes place. In the march led by the sitting MP from West Tripura top leaders were conspicuous by their absence.
