Amit Shah addresses mammoth rally (1/5/2019)
CPI(M) is almost finished , Congress has a lot of infighting to settle before it can raise its head. But even as opposition in the state is in bad shape BJP central leadership is not taking any chances. Amit Shah, national president was in the state today addressing a page heads rally at Vivekananda Maidan where 50,00 page heads and supporters converged from across the state. This even as there is long way to go before Lok Sabha poll actually takes place in May - June, by his own confession. First at the rally and next at a press meet Amit Shah exuded confidence that the good work done by the Biplab Deb government in the last nine months will ensure that BJP MPs gets elected from both the Lok Sabha seats. Mr Shah also made it clear that BJP has set its eyes on as many as 21 seats from North East and 23 seats from Bengal. Speaking at the rally chief minister Biplab Deb listed out his major achievements during his short tenure and reiterated his promise to make Tripura into a model state within next three years. Ram Madhav, Himanta Biswa Sharma and Sunil Deodhar also addressed the mammoth rally. Earlier, Amit Shah went to Matabari temple to offer prayers and later addressed a press meet at state guest house. At the time of filing this report a meeting of core committee is going on at state guest house.
