Good news for BEd students (7/6/2018) 
State government has decided to launch the chief minister's BEd Anuprerana Yojana to encourage candidates in taking up BEd courses to be eligible of teaching jobs.Addressing a press meet, education minister Ratan Lal Nath said the government will provide subsidy on interest of bank loans for BEd trainees to encourage them to opt for the course.Altogether 5,000 candidates will be sponsored in the scheme, he said. The first batch will start from the current academic session, he added. Nath said the initiative will cost the state exchequer Rs 35.5 crore annually.The subsidy will be available to those taking admissions in BEd colleges with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation."We have 4,385 schools in Tripura, including government schools, government-aided schools, aided madarsa under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. There is a severe scarcity of trained teachers in these institutions," Nath went on to add. Educationists contacted by NEINDIA have hailed this decision taken by the state government.
