IPFT to go alone : Ananta (7/2/2018)
IPFT is planning to contest in both the Lok Sabha seats. This was announced by Ananta Debbarma at a press meet here today. Reports said the change of stance came after Ananta attended a meeting of NFNS in Guwahati (see pix). If IPFT decides to contest both the Lok Sabha seats this will mean an end of the alliance. Both the cabinet members from IPFT N C Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia will have to resign if the alliance falls through. Ananta gave assurance at the NFNS meeting that IPFT will snap ties and will no longer be part of NDA alliance or NEDA, sources went on to add. IPFT has eight legislators and even if it withdraws support BJP still have comfortable majority.
