Sitaram writes on Darjeeling , silent on Tipraland (7/14/2017)
CPI(M) double standard has been exposed once again. On the one hand Sitaram Yechury has demanded that a tripartite meeting should be convened on the issue of Gorkhaland agitation in Darjeeling. But in case of the Tipraland demand and ongoing road blockade by IPFT there is no such demand being raised before the Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Back in the state Bijan Dhar today made it clear that the silence of the chief minister on this matter should not be treated as a big issue. As many as three appeals have been made on behalf of the state government to IPFT to withdraw the blockade, he made it clear. He too joined in making a similar appeal today. Back in the capital TSU held a march protesting the blockade. Passengers travelling to and from the capital had to face lots of hardship due to the blockade. There seems to be no end in sight for the miseries of the people of the state as the blockade continued even on Friday.
