Rohit Bal collection sizzles Kolkata 31/01/2011

The mercury rose a degree higher in the city on Friday night as models flaunting Rohit Bal creations walked the pool side in a city hotel at 'The Chivas Studio' fashion event.

The event showcased the exclusive designs by ace fashion designer Rohit Bal, inspired by the Persian work ‘Khakastari’ which means colours of ash.

Bal’s collection included a wide array of garments- sarees, gowns, lehengas.

“For a designer or any creative person, everything changes, at present I feel like doing this,” Bal said.

Colours like red, white, black and golden, were mostly seen in his creations on Friday night.

“Every fashion designer should be fairy tale person as I believe fashion is all about fantasy,” Bal remarked.

‘Let’s Design’ Kolkata finalists declared 28/01/2011

Cotton Council International (CCI), a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of cotton in India, on Thursday declared the Kolkata finalists for the fashion design contest - ‘Let’s Design’ Season 3.

This contest is taking place at regional levels and the top 16 winners from different regions will stay under one roof in a ‘Reality House’.

Here, the finalists will be judged on their execution of various tasks given to them to test their skill, passion and creativity.

The winner will be launched by Indian fashion house, Kimaya across its various stores in India and Dubai.

The contest was judged by fashion designers Agnimitra Paul and Kallol Datta along with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez.
